This is a wonderful 1972 Citroen D Super 5, Left Hand Drive, finished in the perfect presidential colours of Black with Cognac Interior. She is a 5 Speed Manual version and is in a nice restored condition albeit needing some cosmetic work to be perfect. She has had much money spent and is great value at the asking price.

This car was first registered in France in April 1972. The previous owner bought this car in 2018 in South West France from an elderly retired policeman, who was very sorry to see it go, he had the car transported back to the UK, went through the whole registration process and spent six months having her lovingly recommissioned (see work completed below). The car's bodywork is in a good condition as having had the mechanical work done in a specialist Citroen DS garage, he then treated her to a no expenses spared full bare metal respray in a professional bodyshop (completed March '18).

It is very rare indeed to find a black DS, and I think this is the most beautiful model of this great classic, her shiny black paint perfectly offset by her deep Cognac interior. She also has what I think is the most responsive and fun engine to drive, and the 5-speed gearbox makes an enormous difference on longer journeys. The car will come with a fresh MOT and ready to use. Mechanically no expense was spared on the upkeep of this car. The following work was done in 2018, as well as giving her a full service:

New suspension spheres
New oil filter
New Spark plugs
New Insulators
New Cassette points
New Upper Breather Pipe
New Lower Breather Pipe
New Carburettor inlet tube
New Battery
New Battery Bracket
Second hand read exhaust fitting kit
new front indicator units
New Rear Suspension gaitor
New Handbrake pads
New exhaust flexi pipe
Completed minor welding on the underside of the car
Fitted missing rear view mirror
Set Timing
Replace choke knob
Sort out wiring faults for lights

The works above and the respray cost many thousands of pounds and the car can now and can be enjoyed for many years to come. She represents great value in todays market for a very desirable model in a good condition, ready to be used and improved.
